Imagine the Distant Past, South Parsons Avenue, #columbus #ohio
Imagine a distant past when pedestrians hurried along the pavement in front of enticing store windows. Imagine a distant past when the avenue was narrow, paved with brick and had streetcar rails and electrical lines above. Imagine a distant past when thick eastern European accents respectfully addressed patrons of the community in church, school and work. Whether the distant past accurately resembled these idealistic scenarios doesn’t matter. When I am engaged in shooting this south side neighborhood in Columbus, I can’t help but imagine the lives and activity made it a viable community nearly a century ago.
